This Week’s:

Shameless Moment:
If you missed it, check out my sermon from Mother’s Day at Community Fellowship Church in West ChicagoIL.

“Shout for joy, O heavens, rejoice, O earth; burst into song, O mountains! For the Lord comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones. But Zion said, The Lord has forsaken me, the Lord has forgotten me. Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you. See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.”— Isaiah 49: 13-16

Shameless Quote: (Okay, this one is actually pretty shameful, but it empowers us to pray shamelessly for the victims of child trafficking—and for our own children)
“We don’t have to groom girls anymore. Our society is doing it for us.”
—    Unnamed US pimp.
Remember: There are 100,000-300,000 children forced into sexual slavery each year in the US. The average age is 12-13, but even younger children are victims. They are beaten, gang-raped, starved, branded, chained in dog cages, and forcibly ravaged night after night. The average life expectancy of a trafficking victim is seven years. Remember to pray for these precious children. Pray for an end to exploitation and abuse, pray for more safe shelters, pray for loving care-takers, pray for the Gospel to move powerfully in the hearts of the abused, and pray for medical treatment. Pray that God would empower you to stand against injustice. Check out the Chicago Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation for updates on this issue in Chicago, or InternationalJustice Mission for updates on trafficking globally.
Good News for Justice:  New Task Force to Target Trafficking in Chicago. Special Agent Jonathan Williamson and Chicago police Sgt. Traci Walker announced a new joint effort by the FBI and Chicago police to target child traffickers in the city. Read the entire article here.
And as always, may you live shamelessly!
