Walking with hurting Christians who wonder
if God is still there.

It is my deepest honor to walk with you, not as a guide, but as a fellow traveler through pain, grief, lament, and big feelings. I do this in a few ways: writing, speaking, podcasts ( Nothing is Wasted and The Common Good), and coaching.

Those who look to God are radiant; their faces are never covered in shame. – Psalm 34:5

Hi. I am so glad you’re here. And I am so sorry for any pain you are in. In 2022 I lost my best friend (my ride or die) to breast cancer. Years ago, I walked through another deeply painful season in which I was diagnosed with a chronic, debilitating autoimmune disease, and during that same time, my infant son was recovering from spinal cord surgery, and my beloved cousin was killed in a hiking accident.

All that to say, I know what it is to feel like the careful scaffolding of your faith is falling apart. You wonder if God is even there. Does God see any of it? Does God see me at all?

What I have discovered in my dark night of the soul seasons is this: God does not need us to pretend we are okay or wrap up our pain in a pretty little package. Whether you are facing a new diagnosis or the loss of a loved one, injustice, or some other disappointment, you can actually find authentic (not pretend) hope in Jesus – and my deepest desire is for you to find God’s real, comforting presence in your heartache.

You are not alone, friend. Your seasons of suffering and loss – as awful as they are – are an invitation into deeper intimacy with Jesus. I am here to walk with you toward deeper communion with God in your pain.
